Empire

AVENGERS

AvengersFrom overseas to deep space, the Avengers have answered the call of duty wherever they are needed and have become the most beloved heroes not just in America, but in the world. Now they find themselves facing off against the threat of Noh-Varr, who has his own plans in mind for them. Over the years, the team has included numerous members. This latest incarnation consists of Captain America, Iron Man, Warbird, the Vision, Namor, Captain Marvel and Cannonball.

NOH-VARR

Noh-VarrA space explorer with the Kree Empire, Noh-Varr was stranded on Earth a little over a year ago when a scientist named Doctor Midas imprisoned him for his own gains. Breaking free and defeating Midas, Noh-Varr attempted to turn Earth into the paradise he believed the Kree Empire to be, aided by Midas’ daughter, Oubliette. Noh-Varr was apprehended by SHIELD and imprisoned in the supervillain prison known as the Cube. Now, one year later, he has broken free, with designs to create a new Kree Empire.

OUBLIETTE

OublietteNamed after a medieval torture device, Oubliette was raised by her father, Doctor Midas, to be the perfect assassin. She had a slight scar on her face and her father always told her she was too disfigured for the world to look upon her, so she always had to wear a mask. After meeting Noh-Varr, she discovered her father was lying to her and rebelled against him, joining forces with the alien. Now, with her father gone, she has inherited the Midas Foundation and has contributed its resources to Noh-Varr’s cause.

DEATHBIRD

DeathbirdHer birth name stricken from record, Deathbird is the sister to Shi’ar Majestrix Lilandra. Having tried for years to usurp her sister’s throne, she eventually made peace and became the empire’s Viceroy. After being stranded in space with the X-Man Bishop, Deathbird eventually found herself on Earth. In the interest of staying with Bishop, she joined the X-Men. Once he left to lead X-Corps, Deathbird left the X-Men, feeling betrayed by the man she loved and abandoned by her sister. Now, with Noh-Varr making his move, Deathbird may be Earth’s last hope.

NICK FURY

Nick FuryA veteran of both World War II and the Vietnam War, Colonel Nick Fury was injected with the Infinity Serum, which has allowed his body to fend off the effects of aging. As the director of SHIELD, he is the head of the world’s most powerful espionage agency. He has a long-standing relationship with many of Earth’s heroes, especially the Avengers. Noh-Varr’s escape happened on his watch and Noh-Varr’s plans to take over the SHIELD space station, Ohmphalos, affects Fury personally.

IMPERIAL GUARD

Imperial GuardProtectors of the Shi’ar Imperium, the Imperial Guard contain many among their ranks and answer only to the Majestrix Lilandra, Lux Gloriana of the Shi’ar Imperium. After receiving a distress signal from Deathbird, Lilandra dispatches a selection of Superguardians to Earth to investigate. The ones she sends are Gladiator, Warstar, Smasher, Manta, Arc, Starbolt and Plutonia.
