IRON FIST
The son of Wendell Rand, a wealthy American businessman who came from the mystical city of K’un L’un. While on an expedition to search for K’un L’un, Wendell was killed by his friend, Harold Meachum. Left for dead, Danny was discovered by the residents of K’un L’un and taken in by them. Expressing a desire for vengeance, he was trained in the martial arts by Lei Kung. When Danny was 19, he attained the power of the Iron Fist, which allowed him to channel his chi energy into his hands, making them as strong as metal. After leaving K’un L’un, Danny donned ceremonial garb and began a career as the superhero Iron Fist. Once he helped Luke Cage clear his name, the two teamed up and formed Heroes For Hire.
LUKE CAGE
A street tough who fell in with the wrong crowd, Carl Lucas was imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. While in prison, Lucas was abused and humiliated by racist wardens and guards. Lucas volunteered for an experiment which went awry and resulted in his apparent death. In reality, Lucas gained steel-hard skin and superhuman strength. After breaking out of prison, Lucas changed his name to Luke Cage and became the Hero For Hire, performing heroic deeds for a small fee. Eventually taking on the name Power Man, Cage cleared his name with the help of Iron Fist and the two formed Heroes For Hire. Now, he has dropped the Power Man name, instead choosing to simply go by Luke Cage.
