PROFESSOR X
Cassandra Nova Xavier is the long-lost twin sister of the X-Men’s founder, Charles Xavier. Like her brother, Cassandra is a mutant and possesses telepathic abilities, and has also demonstrated low-level telekinesis. Though much of her past is shrouded in mystery, and many of the X-Men are weary of her sudden emergence and her motives, Cassandra, who has decided to christen herself Professor X as an homage to her missing brother, has earned the trust of Phoenix. She has joined the staff of the Xavier Institute and now serves as the school’s new headmistress.
UNCANNY X-MEN
Composed of the main teaching staff of the Xavier Institute, these mutants also serve as the public face of the X-Men. Beast and Phoenix serve as headmasters with Professor X, while the team itself includes Cyclops, Storm, Kwannon, Iceman, Jubilee, Cameron Dalin, and Proteus, with reserve members Archangel and Cecilia Reyes.
X-MEN
Under the co-leadership of Nightcrawler and Domino, this team works on more covert missions and spends the most time away from the mansion. Their ranks include Havok, Moonstar, Colossus, Bishop, Deathbird, Scanner, Ever, Sunpyre, Skin, and Ecstacy. Recently, they have added the mysterious Fantomex and welcomed back former teammate Dazzler to their ranks.
WOLVERINE
Otherwise known as Logan, he has a past that is a mystery even to him. As a subject of the Weapon X program, Wolverine’s skeleton was bonded with the indestructable adamantium which would later be torn from his body by Magneto. In addition to the bone claws that protrude from his wrists, Wolverine possesses super-keen senses and an accelerated healing factor. Having split from his wife Elektra, Wolverine now finds that his old age is catching up with him and has resolved to live out the rest of his days with the only family he’s ever known – the X-Men.
MADELYNE PRYOR
Also known as the Goblin Queen, Madelyne is the genetic clone of Jean Grey created by Sinister; she possesses the same abilities of telepathy and telekinesis as her ‘sister’. After Jean was presumed dead, Madelyne met Cyclops, and they subsequently fell in love and married, also producing a child, the man who would grow up to become Cable. Madelyne was left behind when Jean returned, and later fell into the role of the demonic Goblin Queen. She seemingly perished in battle but was later resurrected as a being of psionic energy by Nate Grey.
NATE GREY
Born of the genetic material of Scott Summers and Jean Grey in an alternate reality ruled by Apocalypse, Nate is one of the most powerful mutants in the world. He was shunted from his home reality after traveling through the M’Kraan Crystal, and as a result of the trauma he recreated Madelyne Pryor as a being of pure psionic energy. He attempted to make a new life for himself and even ended up fighting alongside the X-Men and Avengers at times, but like Madelyne, he’s now been taken over by a force of evil and set upon the X-Men.
