New Warriors

SPEEDBALL

While working at Benson Labs in Springdale as a gofer, Robbie Baldwin sneaked into the lab to observe a top secret experiment. The energies went out of control, washing over Robbie and granting him a permanent kinetic field. This field makes Robbie virtually impervious to harm, and the “Speedball effect” grants him his costume, larger stature, and allows him to use his kinetic abilities in a variety of ways. One of the founding members of the Warriors, Robbie now lives in New York with his mother and is in his fifth year of high school.

SPIDER-WOMAN

SPIDER-WOMAN

A mysterious ceremony called the Gathering of the Five granted Mattie Franklin the ability to cling to walls, glide through the air, weave webs of psionic energy, fire bio-blasts, low-level psychic abilities, and four spider-like legs which protrude from her back. Patterning herself after her favorite hero, she went by the Spider-Man identity when the real Spider-Man was semi-retired, and when he returned she became the latest Spider-Woman. She lives with her uncle, J. Jonah Jameson, and receives training from Madame Web and Jessica Drew, the original Spider-Woman.

RICOCHET

RicochetBorn a mutant, Johnny Gallo possesses superhuman agility, speed, and stamina as well as a warning sense. His mother died when he was a child, and Johnny was raised by his father, although the two have never been particularly close. A student at Empire State University, Johnny was given the Ricochet costume and identity by the Black Marvel, a retired superhero. As Ricochet, Johnny became a member of the Slingers before the team disbanded. Now, Johnny continues to use his powers and his throwing discs as a part-time superhero.

RAGE

RageSeeking refuge in the Newton Creek from bullies, young Elvin Haliday was doused with waste chemicals from Fisk Biochem. The chemicals changed Elvin’s physical appearence, making him look like a grown man with superhuman strength and near-invulnerability. Joining the Avengers as a trainee, Elvin was approached by the New Warriors to steal a Quinjet. This caused the Avengers to dismiss him and Rage joined the Warriors. After his grandmother was killed by enemies of the Warriors, Dwayne Taylor (Night Thrasher) became Rage’s legal guardian. Now, Elvin is enrolled at the Oatridge School for Boys.

JOYSTICK

JoystickStarting out with a life of crime, Janice Olivia Yanizeski possesses special guantlets which allow her to generate batons of energy. As a member of the Great Game, Janice ran across the likes of the Scarlet Spider and the fourth Green Goblin (Phil Urich). She also served as a member of the Crimson Cowl’s Masters of Evil for a time, facing off against the Thunderbolts. Now, Janice is attempting to get her life back in order by leaving her past crimes behind her and enrolling as a student at Empire State University.

GRAVITY

GravityHailing from DeKalb, a small town in northern Illinois, Greg Willis came to New York and enrolled in Empire State University to make it as a big-time hero. Born a mutant, he possesses gravity-altering powers which allow him to fly and grant him superhuman strength. He can only control his own personal gravity, but with great strain, he can extend his control to others.

HORNET

HornetA student at Empire State University, shy Eddie McDonough uses his textbooks as a shelter for the insecurities that accompany his palsied arm. Given a suit of armor by the Black Marvel, Eddie became Hornet and, along with Ricochet, was a member of the Slingers. Although retired from the hero game, Eddie helped out the New Warriors with technical support but recently donned the Hornet armor again and became a full member of the team.

BLINK

BlinkBelieved dead after her first encounter with the Phalanx, Clarice Ferguson was found by the villainous Fatale, who poisoned her against her potential friends at Xavier’s school. Quickly realizing her mistake, Blink joined the students of Generation X and was killed alongwith them by Psionex. She escaped the afterlife with her fellow teammates, Husk and M. Choosing to attend college, she enrolled at ESU where she joined up with the New Warriors. Clarice functions as the team’s teleporter, possessing the power to ‘blink’ things from one point in space to another.
