THE HULK
Doctor Bruce Banner, a brilliant nuclear physicist, developed a bomb powered by gamma radiation. When testing the bomb, a teenager named Rick Jones wandered onto the test site. Banner ran out onto the test site and pushed the boy out of the way. However, the bomb went off and Banner was bathed in gamma radiation, transforming him into the Incredible Hulk, a behemoth with superhuman strength and near-invulnerability. Over the years, the Hulk has gone through many incarnations. Now, he possesses the cunning of the gray Hulk, the savage power of the green Hulk, and the intelligence of Bruce Banner.
THE HULK
Accidentally caught during the test of his own gamma bomb, physicist Bruce Banner became bathed in gamma radiation that gave physical form to his repressed rage and anguish as the Incredible Hulk. What that has to do with this guy we have no idea. He calls himself the Hulk, he looks like the Hulk, but there’s already a Hulk running around. This new red Hulk awoke in the Raft with no memory of his true identity and after he escaped, joined forces with the Defenders in hopes that Doctor Strange could find some answers. All he knows so far is that he was created by a combination of radiation and magic.
DOCTOR STRANGE
Once an arrogant and egotistical surgeon, Stephen Strange lost the use of his hands and instead of seeking help from the medical establishment, he went across the world and sought out the help of the Ancient One. Trained in the mystic arts, Doctor Strange returned to Greenwich Village where he lives in his Sanctum Sanctorum alongside his servant, Wong. From here, Strange acts as the Sorcerer Supreme, defending this realm from any forces that would seek to corrupt it.
DOC SAMSON
A brilliant psychiatrist, Leonard Samson exposed himself to controlled gamma radiation, turning his hair green and granting him a fraction of the strength of the Incredible Hulk and transforming him into a modern-day version of his namesake. Although at first Samson’s strength was dependent on the length of his hair, this limitation has since been eliminated. At times an ally of the Hulk and others an enemy, it was Samson who first brought the Hulk some semblance of stability by creating a fourth personality that combined aspects of all others.
SLEEPWALKER
The Mindscape is a dimension that borders all living things, populated by dangerous creatures who seek to invade sleeping minds. The Sleepwalkers act as an interdimensional police force to keep them at bay. One such Sleepwalker became bonded with a college student named Rick Sheridan. Whenever Sheridan would sleep, the Sleepwalker would emerge from his mind and use his powers to battle criminals. However, since Sheridan has fallen into a coma, he is now in possession of the Sleepwalker’s body and powers, although with no clear idea of how to use them.
