QUICKSILVER
The son of Magneto and the twin brother of the Scarlet Witch, Pietro Maximoff was raised in the mountains of Wundagore. He and his sister were originally members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Following skirmishes with the X-Men, Quicksilver and his sister joined the Avengers. Since then, Pietro has been an on-again, off-again member of the team, and has also leant his superhuman speed as a member of the government-sponsored X-Factor.
SCARLET WITCH
Wanda Maximoff is the daughter of Magneto. Raised with her twin brother, Quicksilver, in the mountains of Wundagore, the pair were originally members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants before they chose to reform, joining the Avengers. Wanda has since remained a mainstay of the Avengers, serving with many different incarnations, her mutant hex and mystical knowledge always giving the team an advantage.
HANK PYM
A brilliant scientist, Hank Pym discovered a way to alter size via a special compound he named Pym Particles. Using these Particles, Hank first began his career as the superhero Ant-Man and was a founding member of the Avengers. Since then, Hank has taken on a number of names, including Goliath, Yellowjacket and Giant-Man. Although he went through a dark period in his past, Hank has since recovered and remains an active member of the West Coast Avengers.
DARKSTAR
Born in Russia, Laynia Petrova is the daughter of the Presence and sister to Vanguard. She possesses the mutant ability to wield the mysterious Darkforce. She can manipulate the Darkforce in a variety of ways, such as teleportation, flight, shields, or to project it. Over the course of her life, Darkstar has served as a member of the Champions as well as the Soviet Super Soldiers and the Winter Guard. Coming to the west coast because of a submarine that utilizes Darkforce energy, Darkstar wound up joining the West Coast Avengers.
SILVERCLAW
Maria de Guadalupe Santiago is the daughter of Peliali, the volcano goddess of the Kamekeri and a human man. Her father died at a young age and Lupe was taken in by a church orphanage sponsored by ChildCare. Edwin Jarvis, the Avengers’ butler, gave contributions to Lupe and she wrote to him over the years. Eventually, Lupe came to America for college where she met Jarvis and joined the Avengers for a time, using her ability to change into various animals native to the rain forest.
